- In Azerbaijan, invention patents are protected for up to 20 years from the filing date. Renewal fees become due from the 3rd year after filing and the first renewal is payable at grant (covering the period from filing to grant). Subsequent renewal fees must be paid annually on or before the anniversary of the filing date.
- If a renewal fee is not paid by the due date, the applicant or owner may still pay it within a 6-month grace period.
