Grant Procedure for a Community Design
Once a Community Design is granted, the relevant information is published electronically in the Community Designs Bulletin, which is updated daily. Below is a detailed explanation about the grant publication and the patent certificate.
Publication of Grant:
All granted Community designs are published in electronic form in the Community Designs Bulletin, with updates occurring daily.
- Patent Certificate: Following full publication, an electronic patent certificate is issued. Rights holders can download this certificate via "eSearch plus" from the day following publication. Certified or uncertified copies of the registration certificate can be requested. The certificate contains all information recorded in the design register.
- After the grant date, even if changes occur to the content of the patent certificate, a new certificate will not be issued. However, an extract reflecting the current legal status of the design can be requested.
- The certificate includes all information registered on the date of the Community design's registration.
- Corrections to the name and address of the applicant are permitted only when there are clerical or obvious errors, upon the applicant's request, and will not alter the design views. This correction incurs no official fee.
- Errors due to the EUIPO will be corrected by the Office itself or upon the registrant's request.
