- In Albania, invention patents are protected for up to 20 years from the filing date. Renewal fees become payable annually, beginning with the year following grant, and must be paid by the last day of the month in which the filing date falls.
- If a renewal fee is not paid by the due date, the applicant or owner may still pay it within a 6-month grace period, subject to a surcharge of 50 % of the applicable annual fee.

- In Albania, utility models may be subject to annual renewal fees beginning from the 2nd year of validity. The renewal fee must be paid by the due date, typically determined as the last day of the month in which the filing date falls.
- If the fee is not paid by its due date, it may still be paid within a 6-month grace period, provided that a surcharge equal to 50 % of the applicable fee is also paid.

- In Albania, an industrial design registration is valid for an initial term of 5 years from the filing date and may be renewed, upon payment of the renewal fee, for additional five-year periods up to a total of 25 years. Renewal fees are payable every five years, on or before the expiry of each 5-year term.
- If the renewal fee is not paid by the due date, the proprietor may still pay it within a 6-month grace period, subject to an additional fee.
