- Turkey invention patents are protected for 20 years from the filing date, provided that annual renewal fees are paid.
- Renewal fees start from the 2nd year, and each subsequent year’s fee must be paid on or before the anniversary of the filing date.
- If the patentee fails to pay by the due date, Turkey provides a 6-month grace period, during which the renewal may still be paid with an additional late surcharge 25% of the relevant annual fee.
- If the renewal fee (including the surcharge) is not paid within the grace period, the patent lapses and cannot be reinstated.

- Turkey utility models are protected for 10 years from the filing date, provided that annual renewal fees are paid. Renewal fees start from the 2nd year, and each year’s fee must be paid no later than the anniversary of the filing date.
- If the renewal fee is not paid on time, a 6-month grace period is available. During this grace period, the fee may still be paid with a statutory late surcharge 25% of the relevant annual fee.
- If the annual fee, including this surcharge, is not paid within the grace period, the utility model right lapses and cannot be reinstated.

- In Turkey, registered industrial designs are protected for an initial term of 5 years from the filing date and may be renewed in successive 5-year periods up to a maximum of 25 years.
- Renewal must be requested and the official renewal fee paid within the last 6 months of each protection period. If the renewal is not made within this regular period, a six-month grace period is available upon payment of an additional surcharge.
- Failure to renew within the grace period results in lapse of the design right.
- For multiple-design registrations, renewal fees apply to the first design and separate additional fees apply to each extra design included in the same registration.
