- The annual fees should be paid when a decision is granted simultaneously with the official grant fees.
- In the Republic of Moldova, renewal fees must be settled by specific deadlines, either with the EAPO or the AGEPI, depending on the patent's filing location. This section outlines how to calculate these renewal dates, covering both the initial and all subsequent renewals.
- For patents filed with the EAPO, the first renewal fee is due on the filing anniversary following the grant date, payable to the EAPO. This initial payment needs to account for all fees that would have been incurred during the application's pendency.
- For instance, if a patent was granted on January 20, 2022, and filed on March 1, 2020, the initial renewal fee must be paid by March 1, 2022.
- Following this, every subsequent fee must be paid yearly on the anniversary of the filing date. The due date aligns with the same month and day of filing.
- Consider a filing date of November 9; each following payment will be due annually on November 9.
- For patents filed with the AGEPI, no fees are required during the application period. The first payment is due 6 months after the grant date, payable to the AGEPI, and should cover all fees that would have accrued during the application process.
- Take a grant date of January 20, 2022, as an example; the first renewal fee would be due by July 20, 2022.
- Subsequent payments after the initial fee also follow an annual schedule on the anniversary of the filing date, maintaining the same month and day.
- If, for example, the filing was made on November 9, each subsequent fee would be due annually on that date.
- For patents filed with the EAPO, the first renewal fee is due on the filing anniversary following the grant date, payable to the EAPO. This initial payment needs to account for all fees that would have been incurred during the application's pendency.
