- Annual fees are payable every year, beginning from the first year following the filing date. The deadline for payment is the last day of the month corresponding to the application date.
- If a renewal fee is not paid by the due date, the applicant or owner may still pay it within a 6-month grace period, subject to a surcharge of 20 % of the applicable annual fee.

- In Iceland, an industrial design registration is valid for an initial term of 5 years from the filing date and may be renewed, upon payment of the renewal fee, for additional five-year periods up to a total of 25 years. Renewal fees are payable every five years, on or before the expiry of each 5-year term.
- If the fee is not paid by its due date, it may still be paid within a 6-month grace period, provided that a surcharge equal to 20 % of the applicable fee is also paid.
