  • In Greece, invention patents can be protected for up to 20 years from the filing date. The annual fee should be paid each year starting from the 3rd year after the filing date. The payment of the renewal fees shall be due on the last day of the month containing the anniversary of the date of filing of the patent application.
  • If a renewal fee is not paid by the due date, the applicant or owner may still pay it within a 6-month grace period, subject to a surcharge of 50 % of the applicable annual fee.

  • In Greece, an industrial design registration is valid for an initial term of 5 years from the filing date and may be renewed, upon payment of the renewal fee, for additional five-year periods up to a total of 25 years. Renewal fees are payable every five years, on or before the expiry of each 5-year term.
  • If a renewal fee is not paid by the due date, the applicant or owner may still pay it within a 6-month grace period, subject to a surcharge of 50 % of the applicable annual fee.
