- In the Czech Republic, patents for inventions are valid for up to 20 years from the filing date. The first renewal fee must be paid within 3 months after the grant decision (for national patents) or within 2 months after the publication of the mention of grant in the European Patent Bulletin (for EP patents validated in the Czech Republic). Subsequent annual renewal fees must be paid on or before the anniversary of the filing date each year.
- If a renewal fee is not paid by its due date, the patent owner may still pay it within a 6-month grace period, subject to a surcharge equal to 100% of the applicable annual renewal fee.

- In the Czech Republic, a utility model is valid up to 10 years from the filing date. Renewal fees (instead of annual fees) become due for utility models: the 1st renewal fee is payable by the last day of the month containing the 4th anniversary of the filing date, and the 2nd renewal fee by the last day of the month containing the 7th anniversary. If the utility model is registered after expiration of its term of validity, the extension fee is payable within 2 months of the registration date.
- If a renewal fee or extension fee is not paid by its due date, it may still be paid within a 6-month grace period, subject to a surcharge of 100% of the fee.

- In the Czech Republic, a registered industrial design is valid for 5 years from the filing date and may be renewed repeatedly in 5-year increments up to a total of 25 years. A request for renewal must be filed during the last year of the current 5-year term.
- If a renewal fee or extension fee is not paid by its due date, it may still be submitted within an additional six-month grace period, in which case the renewal fee is doubled. If a design is registered after the term of its validity has expired, the fee for extension of protection must be paid within two months of registration.
