- Bahraini patents are protected for up to 20 years from the filing date. Annual maintenance fees are payable each year beginning from the second year after grant, and the due date is the anniversary of the filing date. If the fee for the second year (and up to the grant year) has accumulated, it must be paid at grant.
- If the applicant or owner misses the due date, the annual fee may still be paid within a 6-month grace period.

- Bahraini utility models are protected for up to 10 years from the filing date. Annual maintenance fees are payable each year, starting from the second year after the filing date, on or before the anniversary of the filing date.
- If the annual fee is not paid by the due date, it may still be paid within a 6-month grace period, subject to an additional charge of 50 percent of the applicable annual fee.

- In Bahrain, a registered industrial design is protected for an initial period of 10 years from the filing date, and may be extended once for a further 5 years (to a maximum of 15 years) if renewal is requested within the last year of the original protection period. Annual maintenance (annuity) fees become due from the 2nd year following publication, and are payable on each anniversary of the publication date.
- If the annual fee is not paid by the due date, it may be paid within a 6-month grace period subject to a surcharge.
