- In Cyprus, invention patents are protected for up to 20 years from the filing date. The 1st renewal fee is due on or before the day preceding the second anniversary of the filing date, regardless of whether the patent has been granted. Subsequent renewal fees must be paid annually on or before the day before each filing-date anniversary.
- If a renewal fee is not paid by its due date, the applicant or owner may still pay it within a 6-month grace period, subject to a surcharge of 25% per month of the unpaid fee.

- In Cyprus, an industrial design is initially protected for a period of 5 years from the filing date and may be renewed for four additional 5-year periods, up to a maximum of 25 years from the filing date. Renewal may be requested and the corresponding fee paid within 3 months before the expiry of the current protection period or within 6 months thereafter.
- If a renewal fee is not paid by its due date, the applicant or owner may still pay it within the 6-month grace period, subject to the applicable surcharge under the national fee schedule.
